Tillandsia tectorum
I bought a Tillandsia tectorum from the NSW Bromeliad Society’s Autumn Show. They are native to the high Andes areas of Peru and Ecuador. They are covered in silvery scales which help them to absorb moisture from the air and therefore don’t need to be watered much. Apparently they are becoming rare as their native habitat is being wiped out.
